Program

Program Description

Windsor Life Centre is a residential recovery program for women grounded in trauma-informed care and delivered through a structured continuum-of-care model. The program supports lasting recovery by combining stability, skill development, and wraparound supports that evolve as each resident progresses toward independent living.

Our approach recognizes that healing occurs within environments that emphasize safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and choice. Residents are supported in rebuilding stability while developing the confidence and practical skills required for sustainable community reintegration.

The program follows a progressive step-down structure, allowing residents to move forward through clearly defined stages where support gradually decreases and independence increases over time.

Participation may range from 90 days to approximately one year, depending on individualized goals and readiness.

Phase 1 – Foundational Recovery

Duration: First 90 Days

The program begins with an intensive residential phase focused on stabilization, safety, and establishing a strong recovery foundation within a trauma-informed environment.

Residents participate in structured daily programming designed to support:

  • emotional regulation and self-awareness
  • understanding personal patterns and recovery needs
  • development of coping and life skills
  • healthy routines and accountability
  • relationship and boundary development
  • supportive peer community living

Consistency and predictability allow residents to rebuild trust in themselves while developing practical recovery tools.

Each resident works collaboratively with staff to begin an individualized transition plan identifying goals, strengths, and potential barriers related to housing, employment, relationships, and ongoing supports.

Through ongoing collaborative progress reviews, residents and staff assess readiness, goals, and areas requiring further strengthening. Based on these individualized discussions, continuation into Phase 2 is frequently and strongly recommended to reinforce gains made during the foundational program and support long-term stability.

Graduation

At approximately 90 days, residents graduate from the core residential program, recognizing completion of the foundational stage and the progress achieved.

Graduation signifies that a resident has established stability and acquired essential recovery skills within a structured environment.

Phase 2 – Functional Recovery

Additional 90 Days

Following graduation, residents may choose to continue into Phase 2 for an additional 90 days of structured programming plus supported community integration.

This phase focuses on applying recovery skills within increasing independence while maintaining wraparound support and accountability.

Residents begin engaging more fully in:

  • Practical Trauma Informed Support
  • independent decision-making
  • relationship and boundary practice
  • Community supports and resources
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Individualized transferable skills
  • financial planning and responsibility

Structure becomes less intensive while responsibility increases gradually.

During this phase, the resident’s transition plan becomes active, with real-world goals implemented and adjusted as needed.

Phase 3 – Sustainable Recovery

Application-Based Extension — Up to 6 Additional Months

Residents who have successfully completed Phase 2 may apply for Phase 3, an extended recovery phase lasting up to six additional months.

Phase 3 is designed for residents seeking additional time to solidify independence before full transition from program supports.

Focus areas include:

  • Education, employment and housing stability
  • long-term relapse prevention strategies
  • community integration and support networks
  • leadership and peer mentorship opportunities
  • consistency in daily living routines

Residents demonstrate independence while remaining connected to structured accountability and guidance while participating in an active and engaged alumni program.

The individualized transition plan developed throughout earlier phases is finalized and fully implemented during this stage, ensuring residents leave with established systems already functioning in daily life.
